October 31: Trine v. Kalamazoo

Trine welcomes MIAA conference foes Kalamazoo in on Halloween, and after beating K-zoo exactly 364 days prior by a 45-12 scoreline the Thunder will want nothing but the same.

Along with St. Mary’s College, Trine is the only non-Michigan school in the MIAA (Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) but is used to schools like Kalamazoo having been in the conference for awhile.

The Thunder finished last season with a 6-4 record and should count on this game meaning just as much as it did last year in terms of a necessary win. Kalamazoo enters right after Trine arrive home from a game against Albion and just before Trine host Hope College on November 7th.

November 7: Indiana v. Iowa

A Big Ten matchup that hasn’t meant a whole lot in the way of fighting for top spot in the conference in the past, Indiana hosts the Iowa Hawkeyes in early November having lost season’s matchup 45-29 in Iowa City.

Indiana coach Kevin Wilson has a changed team with a bit of a different look, but if Quarterback Nate Sudfield doesn’t look good by this point then the team will be grasping for straws and an invite to a bowl game. Iowa leads the all-time series against Indiana 43-28-4 and should see no reason why coming to Memorial Stadium will be a problem unless the Hoosiers pick up early season momentum and roll with it.

Last year, Indiana surprised a few with a win over SEC East champions Missouri away from home, but otherwise had a fairly predictable, average year that ended with no bowl game. With just Michigan left at home and trips to Maryland and Purdue, if their bowl hopes are still alive by the time Iowa comes to Bloomington then this game is a must win.
