November 28: Purdue v. Indiana
Another rivalry that has brought out the best (and worst) in both teams is the Old Oaken Bucket rivalry between Indiana and Purdue. The Boilers hold the all-time series record and it’s not even close, 72-39-6, but it is the Hoosiers who have been victorious the last two times out including a 23-16 home win at the end of the season last year.
Purdue was… not great last season, finishing 3-9 with a 1-7 conference record, their lone win over Illinois, but claim to be a different team this year. Indiana, meanwhile, finished 4-8 with a 1-7 conference record and really looked no better. If this game means nothing more than simple bragging rights though, still don’t count it out as it is always an entertaining experience.
There are a lot of quality college football games going on in the state of Indiana this season, and this is just a few, but keep your eye on Ink on Indy for extensive college football coverage starting in September.
