Predict your five starters for the offensive line after Colts training camp.

The continuity of the offensive line has plagued the Colts for the duration of the Andrew Luck era. Starting right tackle Gosder Cherilus was on the mend from season ending injuries but refused to restructure his contract and was released only a week before training camp.

The Colts were prepared for the possibility that Cherilus would not be fully recovered from offseason surgery. They moved Jack Mewhort from left guard to right tackle for the duration of OTA’s and minicamp. Mewhort’s stock has risen – and not just on the stock market – he has impressed the coaches enough with his performance that they felt comfortable letting Cherilus go.

With the exception of the incumbent blind-side protector, Anthony Castonzo, Mewhort has shown the most promise among the Colts starters a season ago.

The addition of former Philadelphia Eagle Todd Herremans was intended to help secure the interior of the offensive line. The center position is still a mystery and the absence of Mewhort at left guard has created an opportunity for competition among the remaining members of the offensive line.

With so much shuffling, injuries and inconsistency in the past we decided to take a shot at naming the starters coming out of training camp. As you can see below, our own parity exemplifies the issues the Colts have on the offensive line. If the Colts high-octane offense is to be the “greatest shoe on turf” in 2015, this group will need to gel quickly and string together consecutive starts throughout the season.
