Larry Bird spoke with Pacers.com, saying that he is excited for Douglas to get to Pacers camp and that he felt as if Douglas can match the new style the Pacers are hoping to play.
Starting his seventh season in the NBA, Douglas arrives in Indianapolis after having last spent the last half of the season with the New Orleans Pelicans where he averaged 4.3 points, 1.8 boards, and 2.0 assists per game.
Douglas was drafted in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 29th pick after leaving Florida State with First Team All-ACC honors, including an All-Defensive team selection as well. He was traded to the New York Knicks where he spent three years before being dealt to Houston in a trade involving Marcus Camby. From 2012 to the end of last season, Douglas played for six different teams in total, five NBA teams and a one year stint in China with the Jiangsu Dragons. His NBA career averages are 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
