There are two important dates to consider. By September 1st the Indianapolis Colts have to cut the 90-man roster to 75. Four days later, on September 5th, the roster must be trimmed to 53. There are still three games of preseason action to be played before they have to make their first waves of cuts.
As previously stated, The Indianapolis Colts the current depth chart is unofficial. Anything can happen between now and September 5th. Injuries can happen players can put on surprise performances, players can be added from other teams cuts and coaches can make drastic changes din general based on performance. One thing remains true throughout this tumultuous time, for those players on the bubble NOW is their time to shine. No one can rest on their laurels.
If Robinson, Hodges, Bray, Whalen or Muamba do not give it their all they are not likely to make the final roster. They have to know the playbook inside-and-out, communicate, execute and make an impact with the opportunities they receive. For these guys, each preseason game is their Super Bowl. If they want to be a part of the goal of being on the field in Santa Clara come February they must play at a high level throughout the preseason.
They all know the mission and goal of the Indianapolis Colts. If they too want to compete for a chance to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy then they must act now. The competition for a roster spot is higher than it has ever been during the Colts’ Andrew Luck era. Let’s see how they respond under the lights.
