Judging from the results of Colts Camp, Who is on the bubble to make the roster? Who makes the cut? Who doesn’t?

Scott Stewart (@scostew):

Josh Robinson – he’s got a lot of tools to succeed, but I’m not sure those tools have a place in Indianapolis this year. At this rate he’s competing for the fourth or fifth slot in the depth chart and the Colts are already set with Ballard, Gore, and Herron/Tipton, so I’m not sure what all he could provide to the offense.

Andrew Turpen (@ATplace2be):

Griff Whalen & Vick Ballard. It is more than likely that Griff Whalen has earned a spot on the Colts’ practice squad for another year, but the depth that the Colts currently have at wide receiver will likely prevent Whalen from seeing much of the field during the regular season. As for Vick Ballard, who has missed all but one game over the past two seasons, will be a difficult decision to land a spot on the final roster. Ballard suffered another injury (albeit a minor injury) that has kept him off of the field for most of training camp. Is Ballard’s impressive rookie season enough to save him this year? Your call, Grigson.

Pierre Wilson (@pwee31):

Griff Whalen. He’ll really need to beat out Vincent Brown for the final WR spot in my eyes. I think Brown wins the spot, and Whalen ends up on the practice squad. I think fan favorite Adongo gets cut as well.

Dave McKee (@thedavemckee):

Griff Whalen is in a difficult position coming out of Colts Camp. His targets dwindled in 2014 and now he is surrounded by several talented receivers vying for catches. Much of my thoughts on Whalen were said in my article on the ‘Five Players on Bubble Watch.’

"Griff Whalen has the talent to play in the NFL and would make an excellent slot receiver  – a la Wes Welker – on many NFL teams. But the question remains, does he have enough to fend off the other contenders for that sixth spot? From what has been seen in training camp he has already been eclipsed by two of the three intriguing rookie receivers – Dorsett (speed) and Carter (redzone and catch radius). Rookie Quan Bray and six-year veteran Vincent Brown are his main competition for the sixth WR spot. Griff Whalen will need to perform at a very high level, not just against Philadelphia but every preseason foe, if he wants to remain active on the Colts 53-man roster."
