Paul George Laughs Off ESPN Predictions

ESPN released their 2015 Summer Forecast complete with rankings for each team in the Eastern Conference.

ESPN’s Summer Forecast for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Atop the list, to no one’s surprise, were the Cleveland Cavaliers who ESPN says will get six more wins to boost their record from 53-29 to 59-23, for example.

Second on the list were the Chicago Bulls, followed by the Atlanta Hawks and the Miami Heat to round out the top half of the playoff seeds. In fifth, the Washington Wizards, followed by the Toronto Raptors, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Boston Celtics, completing the eight seeded teams predicted for next year’s playoffs.

That’s right, ESPN left off Paul George and the Indiana Pacers.

ESPN Summer Forecast – Indiana Pacers.

Instead, the Pacers are projected to finish in ninth place just outside the playoffs, but above the Charlotte Hornets (10), Pistons, and Nets, all of whom fought Indiana for a place in last year’s playoffs.

Fans have a right to be puzzled by the ESPN prediction, claiming that adding Paul George for a full season but taking away Roy Hibbert and David West only leaves Indy a game better than they were last year. Indiana’s star agrees, per his Twitter account.

Seems like George and the Pacers already have a chip on their shoulder.
