More comments on Andrew Luck from the Chicago Bears defense

Jahns spoke with many of the Bears defensive starters regarding Andrew Luck and the elite level at which he performs. Per Jahns:

"Jennings marveled at Luck’s management skills. “[It’s] the way he manages the offense and takes control of his huddle,” Jennings said. “He takes control of the offense and he’s a patient kid. He takes what’s given. He doesn’t force anything.” • McPhee highlighted Luck’s mobility. “A great test because he’s the type of guy (who) can run [or] he can sit in the pocket,” said McPhee, who tilted his head back and laughed seemingly in admiration of Luck when describing him. “So it’s different angles how you have to rush him. Instead of going against Jay everyday at practice, you’ve got to be disciplined in your rush, where you can’t go too high or Andrew will take off or you can’t come under too early, and he’ll take off. He’s a great quarterback.” • Veteran safety Antrel Rolle said Luck has “everything” – skill, intellect, the understanding of opposing defenses and the understanding of his own position. “I love going against Luck, man,” Rolle said. “He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He’s very wise beyond his age. He runs a very efficient offense. He’s very great at looking off defenders and he’s very poised with his decision-making. He’s a hell of a quarterback.”"

Gameday Notes

The Colts kickoff at 7:30 pm against the Chicago Bears in Lucas Oil Stadium. After two days of practice there was respect gained from both sides. Lets see if that translate to a better preseason matchup now that each team has gotten to know the other’s tendencies. Look for running back Vick Ballard to play in his first game since week 1 of 2013 his work in camp and during the joint practices impressed coaches and teammates alike.
