Looking ahead, the Colts offensive line must act quickly to ensure Luck is protected.

No matter the opponent, it is essential that this unit become more cohesive heading into the regular season. If it was not already, this must be a priority after this performance. The third preseason game is the last true indicator of where a team is at before the season begins.

If the Colts want to keep Andrew Luck off his backside, they must address their offensive line issues now. Judging by their first two preseason games, I doubt crossing their fingers or throwing salt over the shoulder will be enough to keep Luck protected.

Admittedly, it is only the second preseason game, but issues that go unaddressed throughout the preseason get even worse once the regular season begins. everything notches up in the regular season. The offensive line must become a singular, cohesive unit. Not five guys lined up next to each other.

The intensity, speed, and emotions all ramp up once the season begins. There is no more time to think and correct on the field and halftime adjustments are not always the answer. Everything must become instinctive and not reactionary in the trenches. If the game does not slow down for them individually, then there is little hope that they can protect Luck any better than they have in the past three seasons.
