Rumors are spreading that Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Art Jones may have suffered another high-ankle sprain.

Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Art Jones’ 2014 signing was to become the first step toward fixing the much maligned front seven. Admittedly, his reunion with head coach Chuck Pagano following a breakout 2013 season had many fans and analysts alike praising his 5-year deal. Personally, I equated reuniting Chuck Pagano with an up-and-coming defensive stud – a match made in heaven for the Indianapolis Colts.

Jones exited early in Saturday’s contest against the St. Louis Rams. He was able to get up under his own power and walked gingerly to the sideline putting little weight on injured left ankle. Then, he was seen after the game in a walking boot. During the post-game press conference, coach Chuck Pagano provided his take on the injury:

"“I just have to wait and see what the doctors say tomorrow. I have no idea right now of how bad it is. Hopefully, it is a quick turnaround and not a high ankle type deal, where he would have to miss the type of time that he missed last year.”"

The results of Sunday’s MRI were not disclosed at the time of this publication. I can only speculate until further information is released from the Colts. However, it is safe to say that another season without a healthy Art Jones raises serious questions along the Indianapolis Colts’ defensive line.
