Across the league, players are dreaming visions of Santa Clara in February. Which teams will make it to ‘The Big Game’ for their chance to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy as Super Bowl Champions?
Andrew Turpen – @ATplace2be: Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers
Kevin Siskin – @JaydotSisikin: Indianapolis Colts over Seattle Seahawks
Scott Stewart – @Scostew: Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks
Dave McKee – @TheDaveMcKee: Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers
Me: If at first you don’t succeed… I have the Colts meeting the Packers in Super Bowl 50. As I stated earlier, both were one game short of this prediction last year. I expect the Colts to be better on offense with the Gore and Andre Johnson additions, but the defense will need to be better as well. Hopefully, a healthy Robert Mathis returns at some point this season, and guys like Trent Cole, Kendall Langford, and Dwight Lowery and solidify the defense.
As I mentioned with the Packers, many will count them after the Nelson injury. A lot of people also counted them out during the 1996-97 season when they lost star receiver Robert Brooks to a year-ending knee injury. The Packers went on to defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI that season, so I don’t want to count them out just yet.
Next: Can Notre Dame make a push for the playoffs?
