Indiana Pacers acquire Ft. Wayne Mad Ants

The Indiana Pacers will today announce the purchase of NBA Development League team the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

The formal announcement will come later today in Fort Wayne with Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird, Pacers Sports & Entertainment Vice Chair Jim Morris, Fort Wayne Mad Ants President Jeff Potter, NBA D-League President Malcolm Turner, and Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry all in attendance.

The Mad Ants had previously been involved with local teams such as the Detroit Pistons, but, all-in-all had 12 different affiliates leading into the purchase. In the 2013/14 season, the Mad Ants won their first D-League championship after cruising through the Santa Cruz Warriors in two games.

The announcement, which can be streamed live above, is set for 1:30p ET in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.
