The Hoosiers offensive numbers were solid and running back Jordan Howard is impressive.

Jordan Howard might save Wilson’s job this season if he continues to put up Tevin Coleman-like numbers. Howard ran the ball 27 times for 159 yards, which was his second straight 100-yard game. In his first start in Bloomington, Howard lived up to the expectations Coleman left behind and what he brought with him from UAB, rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns in the season opener. Howard was named team co-offensive player of the week.

Can Howard become Indiana’s second 2,000-yard rusher? After the first two games, the sky’s the limit for the Blazer turned Hoosier. He is averaging 152 yards per game. With that pace, Howard would reach 1,824 yards at the end of the season. Let’s also not forget how viable running back Devine Redding has been this season. Redding is averaging 55 yards per game and has scored two touchdowns. A second running back like him could save the mileage on Howard.

After a 2-0 start, a bowl game is now reachable… Knock on wood. The Hoosiers next game will be on September 19th as they host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, who are also 2-0,  Kickoff is at 4 pm EST at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana.
