Indianapolis Colts: DraftKings Week 4 Player Values
By Mathew Muncy
It’s been a rough three weeks for Indianapolis Colts fans and not just because the team is 1-2. Fantasy-wise the main players are not living up to expectations and while most of us just play for fun, others play for big purses on our favorite daily fantasy website. DraftKings is my DFS of choice so I’m going to breakdown player values and whether they are worth playing in your lineup this week.
The Colts face divisional foe Jacksonville Jaguars who just had a team record 51 points dropped on them by the New England Patriots. Jacksonville is a pretty bad team both offensively (24th in total offense) and defensively (21st in total defense), but the Colts are equally as bad sitting 20th in total offense and defense. However, I believe the momentum from the comeback victory over the Tennessee Titans will carry over, so I expect a big game from the Colts at least offensively.

And Vegas feels the same way. They currently have the Colts-Jaguars game with an over/under of 48 points, second highest right now for the week and the Colts are favored by about 10 points.
So, without further ado here is all you need to know about playing Colts players in your DraftKings lineups this week.
Andrew Luck – $7,800
Luck is pricey this week at $7,800, the second highest-costing quarterback only behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Despite the cost, Luck is a solid start because the Jaguars are giving up 282.7 passing yards per game and a whopping 30.3 points per game. We know how much Pep Hamilton loves to let Luck air it out and you can expect them to do so until they have a comfortable lead.
Frank Gore – $4,700
Gore FINALLY had a good game last week and now everyone is probably going to expect more of the same this week, but I wouldn’t count on it just yet. At $4,700 he is a steal for a player who can put up two or three touchdowns when the offensive line isn’t getting flagged for holding, yet it’s hard to trust the line or Pep Hamilton’s play calling after just one game. Plus the Jaguars run defense is tougher than the Titans, allowing only 90.7 rushing yards per game. If you do decide to play Gore, you would be better off playing him in the Flex instead of your RB1 or RB2 slot.
T.Y. Hilton – $6,700
I tend to handcuff my quarterback and one of his receivers when I’m creating a DFS lineup and with the Colts wide receivers it might be a bit tougher since you never know which one is going to have a big game. At $6,700 Hilton might be a bit expensive to handcuff with Luck unless you are expecting a huge day from him, which I am. So far Hilton has yet to score a touchdown this year, but he’s been targeted a team-high 28 times with 15 catches for 227 yards. The Colts paid Hilton big money to score and that’s exactly what I expect him to do against the woeful Jaguars secondary.
Donte Moncrief – $5,000
Another option at receiver would be Moncrief. It’s safe to say Moncrief has become a favorite of Luck’s this year with his 26 targets. All offseason he was projected as the fourth wide receiver on the depth chart, but after three weeks he has firmly positioned himself as WR2. He has 17 catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns and is averaging 19.3 points per game on DraftKings. If you want to save a little money to spend on a more legitimate WR1 than Hilton, then Moncrief is your man.
For the rest of the available offensive players, Andre Johnson, Philip Dorsett, Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, I would pass this week. I’m not sure Johnson even knows he’s playing with Andrew Luck, Dorsett is too boom or bust, Fleener gets overlooked by the receiving core and Allen may not be 100 percent.
Colts Defense and Special Teams – $2,800
The Colts defense is mediocre and they have no punt or kick return game whatsoever. They scored 12 DFS points last week, but it’s hard to envision the defense getting multiple turnovers for a second straight week. Staying even at 10 points would be a good week for the Colts defense, so only play the Colts DST if you’re in a major bind salary cap-wise.
