Jordan Jenkins | Georgia

Jenkins lived in the shadow of his teammate Leonard Floyd at Georgia. While Floyd was getting all the attention, Jenkins quietly performed well in the background. Despite the lack of attention in college, Jenkins has seen his draft stock rise all the way into the second round.

In four years with the Bulldogs, Jenkins accumulated 209 tackles and 19 sacks. His final season in college was a down year in some scout’s eyes. However, his lack of production was understandable because he was dealing with nagging groin and hip injuries. He still managed to get 59 tackles, 10.5 for loss and four sacks even with the injuries.

Scouts have liked what they have seen from Jenkins this offseason. He put up impressive scores at the combine and at his pro day.

While he is not a unique physical specimen like Floyd, Jenkins has the potential to be an elite outside linebacker. He may not be the dominate pass rusher the Indianapolis Colts are looking for, but he is very consistent.  Jenkins is very good at setting the edge in a 3-4 defense, and when he gets to the quarterback, he usually finishes the play off with a sack.

The Colts met with Jenkins during his pro day and at least two other times. The interest is obviously there for the Colts. While he is not the top pass rusher of the draft class, the Colts could find a role for him in their defensive scheme.
