Is Arthur Jones Going to Make it Through Training Camp Injury-Free?

Arthur Jones’ health has been a huge question mark during his entire tenure with the Colts. His health will be put under an even bigger microscope during training camp this year.

Jones joined the Colts in 2014 on a five-year, $33 million contract. However, he has only appeared in nine games for the team. He only recorded 34 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks in those nine games.

Ankle injuries are the reasons why Jones has not played many games for the Colts. A high-ankle injury forced him to miss seven games in 2014 while tearing ligaments in his left ankle caused him to miss the entire 2015 season.

It is pretty clear the Colts have not received an adequate return on their investment in him. Jones will have his third chance to prove himself once training camp begins. Reportedly, he will be fully recovered from his ankle injury by the start of training camp.

Colts’ fans are becoming frustrated with his unreliable health, and now, the Colts have some depth that would make Jones expendable. As a result, an injury in camp this year could end Jones’ tenure with the Colts altogether.

The 2016 season will be a big season for Jones because he is on thin ice with the Indianapolis Colts. The team knows he has a lot of talent, but it is hard to rely on someone who is always hurt. Jones trying to survive training camp injury-free will be a big storyline to watch.
