Will Andrew Luck Rebound from a Disappointing 2015 Season?

The Indianapolis Colts and Andrew Luck have been adamant that Luck is fully healed from his numerous 2015 injuries. As a result, the next question that needs to be answered is whether or not he can return to his previous elite form in 2016.

Everyone seems to be assuming Luck will return to his elite form in 2016. There are no guarantees in football. People need to slow down a bit. It is okay to have confidence in Luck, but the 2015 season should have made people more cautious with their assumptions with Luck.

People blame injuries on Luck’s poor season. However, people need to remember Luck was not very good even when he was healthy. His performances were very inconsistent and often times, he only had one or two solid quarters per game.

It is not a guarantee Luck will re-insert himself as one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks, but he certainly has the talent to do it. He just needs a couple of things to go in his favor.

First of all, the offensive line needs to be able to protect him. The Colts have addressed this by drafting four new linemen in this year’s NFL draft.

Second, Luck has to be better when facing immense pressure. In 2015, he panicked a lot and tried to force passes down the field when facing overwhelming defensive pressure. As a result, he ended up throwing 12 interceptions in seven games.

Finally, he needs to take care of himself better. He endured a lot of hard hits because he held the ball until the last second looking for open receivers.

Luck was not perfect in 2015. Obviously, he needs to take care of himself better. However, he as a few things he needs to fix in training camp in order to be ready for the 2016 season.
