Defensive Tackle Henry Anderson

Henry Anderson was one of the Indianapolis Colts’ best rookies in 2015. Unfortunately, he suffered an ACL tear midway through the season, and now, everyone is curious to see how active the young defensive tackle will be in training camp.

Prior to his ACL injury, Anderson was on pace to be one of the NFL’s best rookies of 2015. He had 31 combined tackles and one sack in nine starts for the Colts in 2015. However, he torn his ACL in the Colts’ 27-24 Week 9 win over the Denver Broncos.

According to the Colts, Anderson is in the final stages of his rehab. While Anderson is eager to return to the field, the Colts are taking a very conservative approach with him. They want him at full strength; not anything less.

The Colts are well-aware of the talent Anderson possesses, which why they do not want to take huge risks with him. There is no clear timetable for Anderson to return to the practice field.

Earlier this year, Colts’ owner Jim Irsay made it seem like Anderson might not be ready by Week 1 of the regular season. If this is the case, the Colts have enough depth on the defensive line, but ideally, they would like him in uniform by Week 1.

There is a chance Anderson will be doing some side work on the field later into training camp. However, there is a strong likelihood Anderson will do most of his rehab privately with the team’s athletic staff.

If or when Anderson suits up in training camp, a lot of eyeballs will be directed towards because everyone will want to see how close he is to playing in an actual game.
