Earlier this year in August before the season had even started, Jacksonville Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey made comments about many quarterbacks in the league, most of them being rather insulting. He did make a comment regarding Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

This is what Jalen Ramsey had to say back in August:

"I don’t really think he’s that good. Him and T.Y. [Hilton] had a connection in the past that made him stand out a little bit more, but I don’t think he’s good."

It is interesting that Ramsey made this comment because by taking a look at Andrew Luck’s’ stats against Ramsey, it looked like Luck fared well against the talkative cornerback. When the two faced off in 2016 (the only time they have played each other), Luck put up big numbers on the stat sheet.

Luck targeted Ramsey 16 times during the year, which showed he is not afraid of throwing the ball towards the Jags’ star corner. Out of those 16 targets, 11 of them were caught. That is good for a 69% completion percentage when targeting Ramsey. Also during that same match up in 2016, Luck tacked on 172 yards in the air, which doesn’t seem ordinary for a “lockdown” corner. Luck also came through with a touchdown and no interceptions, as well.

All of these stats make up a stellar 125.0 QB rating during the year when going after Ramsey.

Jalen Ramsey hasn’t exactly played notably this year. His first interception of the year came recently against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 8. The Jaguars as a team are 3-5 on the year, the same as the Colts, and are looking to salvage at least something on the year, because their quarterback situation is not exactly pretty, either.

This Sunday, Andrew Luck and Jalen Ramsey will take on each other for the second time ever. I am really looking forward to this match up and I hope that Luck makes Ramsey eat his words.
