Caitlin Clark's emotional reaction to Angel Reese blunder is going viral
By Jason Reed

The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry has gone full Hollywood. It isn't just the WNBA's marquee rivalry, it isn't just the most noteworthy rivalry in basketball; it is arguably the biggest individual rivalry across all of American sports.
Clark's Indiana Fever traveled to Chicago to take on the Sky on Saturday and normally, this would be the hottest regular-season ticket to get in all of basketball. Unfortunately, Clark is still out of action with a quadricep injury, postponing the head-to-head matchup that basketball fans wanted to see.
The Fever didn't seem to get the memo that Clark was out of commission as Indiana blew the brakes off the Sky, 79-52. Clark also did her part to further her rivalry with Reese in the most mundane way possible. Clark had a pretty common reaction to Reese travelling and turning the ball over, but because of the rivarly, this reaction has become noteworthy.

Caitlin Clark turns heads with reaction to Angel Reese travel
Players on the bench signaling the travel motion when an opponent travels is as common in basketball as baseball players spitting sunflower seeds in baseball. This isn't anything out of the ordinary, but everything Clark does seems to be extraordinary.
Clark's emphatic (if we want to use that term) response to Reese's travel has certainly grabbed the attention of the sports world. If this was anyone else on the Fever, or literally any other WNBA player committing this travel violation, it would get lost in the shuffle.
But for Clark and Reese, it is another footnote in what is an evolving rivalry in the WNBA. This won't be it's own chapter, it won't even be it's own page, but because of the friction that already exists, it is worth talking about.
Clark knows what she is doing. While she would have done that with any other Sky player, she knows she is playing into the rivalry with this reaction. And quite frankly, while the travel gesture is rather common in basketball, there was an extra ounce of emotion in Clark's reaction. We all know why.
The Fever and Sky play again in Chicago on July 27. Clark should be well back by then and will further this rivalry with Reese on the court, not from the bench.
