Caitlin Clark gives back to Iowa community while away from Fever due to injury

The face of the league delivers again.

Caitlin Clark's second season in the WNBA has been everything but expected, as she's faced numerous injuries that have cost her significant time with her team. But, her impact doesn't slow down, despite the obstacles she has dealt with on the court.

On Monday, Clark returned to her home state of Iowa for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at her foundation's newest basketball court. The new court now exists at McCombs Middle School in Des Moines, Iowa, Clark's hometown.

Once the ribbon ceremony concluded, Clark spent an afternoon handing out over 500 backpacks and school supplies to kids for the upcoming year. It was a day that young Iowans won't ever forget. Receiving gifts from the the state's arguably most pinnacle sports figures of all-time.

Clark has kept a positive mindset through her struggles this season. Her absence from basketball hasn't in any way deterred her from interacting with her fans.

She is seen before every Fever game signing numerous autographs around the arena. Clark's presence is constantly felt and she has always been open about not taking any of it for granted. She uses her platform in the most impactful ways.

The Caitlin Clark Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2023 aiming its focus at improving the lives of today's youth through their education, sports and nutrition. Clark's dedication to giving back has touched many people. In fact, this year marked the second straight year she returned to Iowa for this same event.

The organization has also provided several grants to various charities that Clark said inspired her during her tenure at the University of Iowa. Just last week, she gave back to local kids in Indianapolis. Clark pulled up to Northwest Middle School in Indy where she handed out hundreds of backpacks to help out Indianapolis Public School students.

What remains so impressive about Clark isn't just her level of basketball skills, it's also that she wasted no time being a professional athlete that steps up in the public eye to help others in need - something many others should do.

One can imagine her free time is very limited outside of basketball, public appearances, other endorsements, etc. But, she never waverers from putting people first. The WNBA is in great hands going forward with ambassadors such as Clark, who undoubtedly drew in many new eyes to the league ever since her rookie season. She proves multiple times that giving back goes a long way.
