Caitlin Clark is known as someone, who makes basketball history and breaks records left and right. Her star power is so great that she even continues to break records while she is out with an injury.

As ESPN reported, “an autographed Caitlin Clark Logowoman rookie card sold for $660,000 (including buyer’s premium) at auction Thursday night.” That number set a new record for the highest price for a women’s sports card.

The previous record was also set by a Caitlin Clark card. It was a 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Prizm card, which sold for $366,000.

Seeing Clark’s cards sell at such high prices only reiterates her star power. While her sophomore season may not be going according to plan, Clark is still on track to become one of the best players the WNBA has ever seen, and her popularity hasn’t taken a hit. Despite playing only a few games, Clark was voted as a starter and captain for the All-Star Game.

Injuries have derailed Clark’s 2025 season

Caitlin Clark has only played 13 games all season long, missing time with a quad injury and a groin injury. She also had to miss the All-Star Game action and the 3-point contest. Her production has gone down with the injuries, particularly her shooting percentages.

The timeline for Clark’s return is still uncertain. She missed the Fever’s latest game against the Las Vegas Aces—a win that could have major implications for the playoff race. The Fever now hold the tiebreaker over the Aces, one of the teams they are competing with for one of the final three playoff spots.

The latest update the Fever released was that Clark “underwent further medical evaluations” which found no additional injuries or damage. While that is good news, Clark still has to see several doctors and is still working on her recovery. The Fever will need their star to win at the highest level. Even if Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Natasha Howard play at their highest level, Clark adds another dimension to the Fever’s offense, improving the team’s playmaking and drawing a lot of attention from defenses.

The Fever have proven that they can win without Clark, though. So, it is probably best for the team if Clark takes all the time she needs to recover and gets ready for the playoffs. Missing more time will be a challenge for Clark, though. She is young and eager to compete every chance she gets. Plus, she’s never had to miss time due to injuries before.
