Caitlin Clark's 3 best moments against rival Angel Reese

Caitlin Clark won't be on the floor as a player Saturday when the Indiana Fever meet the Chicago Sky at home at Wintrust Arena, but she'll certainly be on the sidelines — and if Fever fans have learned anything from Coach Clark so far, it's that she'll be extremely engaged in what happens. The Fever and Sky are playing for the first time since Clark and Angel Reese were entangled in a major foul moment that shook up the WNBA (and since the Fever trounced the Sky 93-58.
Tonight's game could certainly go very, very differently for the Fever. Without Clark and Sophie Cunningham, the Sky could find a way to navigate through the Fever's defense to hit more buckets. The Sky has struggled to find its footing so far this season, but the rivalry between the two teams could inspire yet another heated battle.
Clark has played quite a few big games and moments against Reese throughout their young WNBA careers — here's a look at her top 3 moments over her Sky rival.
Caitlin Clark's triple-double against Chicago
While the teams' first match in May was notable for a few reasons, one was the fact that Clark finished out the game with her third career triple-double. Though Reese also clocked her own double-double, it's tough to deny that Clark's feat was simply more powerful and more impressive.
Clark was pretty modest while speaking about the triple-double during the postgame interview. "Obviously, it's cool," Clark said. "My teammates have been finishing the ball [at a] really, really high rate. My assist numbers, that's because of them."
Winning her first-ever game against the Sky
The Fever and Sky met for the first time following the 2024 WNBA Draft on June 1, 2024. Fans of both athletes and teams were heated ahead of the time: it was clear this was going to be a defining moment of the early season.
The Fever had only earned one win (out of 10 games) when the teams met (the Sky had a 3-3 record at the time). The game was tight, but the Fever ultimately won 71-70.
A near-unanimous Rookie of the Year vote
And of course, perhaps Clark's biggest moment against Reese was when she won Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the 2024 season. The vote was nearly unanimous, with Reese receiving one nod in her favor from a group of sports broadcasters and sportswriters. Clark was the third player in Fever history to win the award, the perfect way to end what was an extraordinary debut season.
