2025 WNBA All-Star weekend is set to kick off at Gainbridge Fieldhouse from July 18th to the 19th, with the Indiana Fever acting as hosts to the rest of the league.

Caitlin Clark, the Fever's star guard who has unfortunately been sidelined to begin much of this season, just won the title of All-Star game captain for this year's game, which means she and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier will be in charge of selecting their own teams for the game on the 19th.

While it remains unclear what Clark's timeline for a return is at this moment, it feels like a safe bet to assume she'll at least be healthy in two weeks to play as captain and leader for her respective team.

If she's able to go, then we shouldn't be shocked if several Fever players end up on her squad - after all, Indiana is the host city, so it would only be right if Clark, Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, and Kelsey Mitchell all ended up on her team if those two manage to make the All-Star game as starters or reserves.

Clark will likely stack her team with Fever players

While you can never put it past the other captain to have some gamesmanship and select the other captain's teammates, it feels likely that Clark will put her stake in Boston, Hull, and Mitchell. The trio have been playing at a high level all season long, with Boston playing the most efficient basketball in the entire league and with Hull amongst the league's leaders in three point shooting percentage.

Mitchell had a slower start to the year than Boston and Hull, but she's been lights out recently and helping Indiana to stay in or win games without Clark.

Clark's been hurt on and off throughout this season, but rest of Indiana's starters sans Natasha Howard have specifically done an incredible job of picking up the slack - and, that's no knock on Howard, who has started to really ramp it up with her rebounding and post scoring in recent games.

Clark received 1,293,526 votes from fans, which made her the league leader in fan voting and the obvious number one pick for captain this season. The Fever guard is oft-intense, even in fun games like these, so it'll be fun to see her strategy for building a team from scratch.
