'Demon mode' Caitlin Clark just proved she won't stand for bullying trend

She bullies the bullies her own way.

Most fans are all for tough, physical play in professional sports, but some of the nonsense Caitlin Clark has been dealing with goes too far. Unfortunately for the women on the other team, it's not slowing down the Fever's train led by a ruthless conductor in Clark. Indiana is one of the best teams in the WNBA. It only took until her second season for the former Iowa star to begin challenging for the top spot in the W.

I don't think everyone likes that, and it shows in the cheap shots she takes on an almost nightly basis. Exhibit A from last night when Indy spanked the Connecticut Sun 88-71.

Players are still trying to punk Caitlin but it's not working

There's no way to explain this play other than an acknowledgement that Jacy Sheldon made a dirty play. The ball is nowhere near Clark's face, so there would be no reason to swipe her hand that high unless she was actually aiming for Caitlin's eye. But revenge is a dish best served cold, and nobody has more ice in their veins than the W's young star.

*Disclaimer* No eyes were injured in the filming of this bucket

Does that qualify for the "eye for an eye" idiom? It's good enough for me. Nobody went blind, but Sheldon is going to be seeing stars for a while. Clark is developing a reputation that I'm not sure the other hoopers are picking up on. Don't poke her.

There is a history in sports of players who elevate to another level when you take dirty shots at them or talk too much trash to them. Just don't do it. The Sun were already down big, so just play your game and go home with an L like a respectable competitor. All of this other stuff is unnecessary, and it only gives Clark a license to go ballistic in your face. Then she's going to let you hear about it.

Sometime before or after the Indiana Star busts your butt, you'll also have to deal with Sophie Cunningham or Lexie Hull. The Fever have each other's backs more than ever, so if you want to deal with getting thrown to the ground before being embarrassed and run off the floor, more power to you.

Sheldon finished that game with 2 points, three assists, and two rebounds. She should be worried more about getting her production up not poking people in the eye. That's not basketball. Caitlin Clark dropped 20 points and six assists with her team en route to a double-digit victory. That's basketball.
