The Indiana Fever made two big splash free agency signings this past offseason, snagging both Natasha Howard and DeWanna Bonner off the market to add to a core featuring Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.

In fact, Bonner was interviewed about why she chose the Fever over a few other prospective teams, and she told ESPN's Holly Rowe that those three had reached out to her to get her to come over to the team before the 2025 season kicked off.

Of course, not everything is what it seems. Bonner hasn't had a very defined role thus far with Indiana, and she's currently averaging 21.3 minutes per game with the team - that's the lowest amount of minutes she's played since her rookie year with the Phoenix Mercury back in 2009.

That's why it should come as no surprise to Fever fans who have been watching the team all season long to see that Bonner has not only removed all of her posts on Instagram related to the Fever save for one, but that the team itself has also removed her banner from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Seems like one of two things are coming the Fever's way as it pertains to Bonner: she's possibly asked for a trade, which would explain why she's been away from the team for "personal reasons" for their last four contests.

The 37 year old veteran looks all but gone, but there's been no reporting on the circumstances related to her being out beyond head coach Stephanie White just saying she was "supportive" of Bonner in her time away, per Chloe Peterson of the Indy Star.

"She's doing well, she's doing well. Again, no timeline. I think it's day-to-day, and for us to make sure that we're continuing to be supportive of DB in her time away."

Bonner looks like she's off the Fever

Removing a whole player's banner mid-season screams "trade," but it's hard to speculate on any of that given Bonner is out for obviously sensitive reasons. However, it has to be noted that she just hasn't been utilized to her full potential this year by the Fever, and that's led to some career lows for her.

There are a few teams that could use front court reinforcements. The Dallas Wings and Phoenix Mercury come to mind, with the latter feeling like a fit that Bonner would welcome considering her championship history with Phoenix and considering her fiancé, Alyssa Thomas, also plays for the team.
