Fever can give Caitlin Clark even more help after latest trade rumors
By Jason Reed

The Indiana Fever have the face of the WNBA in Caitlin Clark and have already been aggressive in surrounding her with the right pieces to contend for a championship. Those efforts shouldn't slow down, though, as the Fever should look to make any improvement possible.
Sometimes those improvements can be as small as second-string frontcourt players. After all, the Fever could use some more size and would benefit from having a "true" center on the roster to help Aliyah Boston.
The perfect chance for the Fever to make this addition may have just fallen in their lap. Seattle Storm center Li Yueru has requested a trade from the 5-4 Storm with the hope of receiving more playing time. This is where the Fever can capitalize.
Fever must at least consider a Li Yueru trade to continue helping Caitlin Clark
As great as Li has been for the Chinese National team, she is not going to be the sole difference-maker in a team winning the WNBA Championship. Her role has been limited as a backup big and that would likely continue on the Fever.
While Li may not get the boost in playing time she is looking for, she will get a boost in playing with Clark on the most-watched team in the WNBA. According to ESPN, the Chinese Federation prefers Li to get more playing time if she is going to stay in the WNBA. The Fever may not provide that, but they provide more eyeballs.
Plus, even though she wouldn't be getting starting minutes in Indiana she would still play a key role. The Fever would benefit immensely from adding a "true" center to dispel some of Boston's minutes. There could even be some lineups (albeit unorthodox) where Li and Boston could play together.
Indiana's only other big is Damiris Dantas, who Li would be a notable improvement over. The long-time vet is not as impactful as Li at this stage, and does not provide the same size.
Trading for Li wouldn't require much from the Fever, either. Theoretically, the Fever could trade a future second-round pick and a contract, such as Brianna Turner, to facilitate a trade. If Indiana plays its cards right, the team could even create more cap space to make another move during the season.
Li won't win the Fever the title, but she can help the team go from being in the middle of the pack in rebounds (and the back of the pack in offensive rebounds) while also offering Clark, Boston and others a scoring option around the rim.
