Fever must fix huge flaw on offense that existed before Caitlin Clark's injury

The Indiana Fever roster one of the league's best three point shooters in Caitlin Clark, as well as two guards in their typical starting lineup who have shown some major flashes of high-percentage shooting from three over the last two seasons: Lexie Hull and Kelsey Mitchell.
Additionally, their bench consists of two excellent three point shooters in Sophie Cunningham and DeWanna Bonner. These pieces should mean that Indiana leads or is close to leading the league in three pointer attempts this season.
The Fever are not anywhere close to there. In fact, the team currently ranks 11th out of 13 teams in the association in three point attempts per game, which is a huge detriment to an offense built around stretching the floor for talented post players like Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, and Damiris Dantas.
That has to change, even when Clark comes back, in order to help this offense regain its spark as the team looks to climb out of a 2-4 hole to begin their WNBA season.
Fever must take more three pointers to keep up on offense
The teams currently leading the league in three point attempts per game - the Golden State Valkyries, the New York Liberty, and the Atlanta Dream, are seeing varying amounts of success with their high-volume shot strategy. For New York, it's paying off very well with a 7-0 start to the year and a solid 38.6 percent three point shooting average.
For the Dream and Valkyries, while some games with their high-volume three point shooting have been a positive, they don't have the consistency necessary on their rosters to make teams pay for allowing them to take so many shots. The Fever could be a team to make defenses hurt from allowing so many threes, though, considering their talented shooting roster.

Without Clark, the team has to find a way to both keep getting Boston open and to score without a many point guards available to run the floor. The team did just sign Aari McDonald to a hardship deal, and she'll be likely expected to be the team's facilitator with Sydney Colson day to day.
When Clark returns, this task shouldn't be too difficult. One of the best ways she's able to make life for Boston so easy is with her shooting gravity. If she can set the tone for the rest of the teams' shooters with consistent deep shots, then the offense should thrive.
