Fever must rely on Aliyah Boston to keep this one streak alive

The Fever will take on the Storm (who are fresh off a 90-83 win over the Aces, who beat the Fever 89-81 in Indiana's last game) tonight, and the embattled team will need to fire on all cylinders if they hope to win. The Storm have put together a strong roster this season, and the Fever will be coming off back-to-back losses and are still playing despite the confusion surrounding vet DeWanna Bonner. The team will need Aliyah Boston, who clocked back-to-back double-doubles in their last two games, even more than they usually do.
The 2025 season has been more challenging for the Fever than many hoped it would be. Players have missed time due to injury or personal reasons, the team has suffered surprising losses, and head coach Stephanie White has been absent. But through it all, Boston has been dependable.
Boston, who was drafted by the Fever as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, was tasked with learning an entirely new style of play when Caitlin Clark joined the Fever last year. The first few weeks of the season were rocky, but the pair learned to work together and have built a dynamic that is often seamless. In many ways, Boston has already shown the Fever and the WNBA who she is.
Now it's time for Boston to remind the team (and its fans) that she can be counted on when they need it the most. Through the Fever's recent wobbles, Boston (and teammate Lexie Hull) has put in steady, consistent performances that are also noteworthy (as easy as she makes it look, double-doubles take a lot of work).
It's no secret that Clark is carrying a heavy load right now for the team, and it's also apparent that the Fever has work to do before they will be able to consistently play at the level that many expect from the team. Boston has demonstrated the ability to rise to the challenge through her playmaking and her production.
When it comes to succeeding against the Storm, the Fever (and most importantly, Clark) will need to do everything they can to get the ball in her hands. As she's so often demonstrated, Boston knows exactly what to do once that mission is accomplished — it's just a matter of achieving the goal without landing her in foul trouble, an all too regular occurrence. The more catch-and-shoot opportunities Boston gets, the better the Fever will be.
