Fever's road issues made painfully obvious with this one stat

Caitlin Clark shouldn't be expected to put the entire Indiana Fever on her back. The point of her being the team's star point guard is that she should be able to rely on her supporting cast to provide a lift when she's struggling. However, this one stat is an exact reflection of just how poorly the Fever's recent road trip has gone for Clark and the team.
Clark is only shooting 1-22 on the road from three point range. That's a far cry from her 50 percent and 66.7 percent shooting from deep in the Fever's last two home games against the New York Liberty and the Connecticut Sun. With Clark struggling on the road, the Fever have, too. Indiana is just 2-4 on the road so far this year, a direct reflection of Clark's struggles in these games, as well.
Head coach Stephanie White told reporters over the weekend that they have to figure out a way to make Clark's shot making easier, especially in the wake of the Las Vegas Aces' defensive scheming working to contain Clark to just 19 points on 7-20 shooting from the field.
Getting more physical with teams on screens and switches has to be the point of emphasis for Indiana moving forward, or else they risk Clark continuing to face double teams and full court pressure easily.
Clark's shooting on the road has to improve to avoid skid
Indiana isn't going back home for a contest until Thursday, when they face off with the struggling Los Angeles Sparks. On the road, the Fever are shooting just 43.3 from the field, and an abysmal 28.6 from three point range.
The team is also only scoring 79 points per game over their last two contests. Without Clark's gravity actually impacting the game, players like Aliyah Boston have been relied on heavily to generate offense for the Fever - and while she's been ridiculously efficient so far this year, her paint scoring is hampered by her fouling.

The Sparks are allowing its opponents to shoot 33.8 from three point range, so perhaps Clark can get going closer to her season-average 31.9 shooting from three. Additionally, a less-aggressive defense in LA should open a window for Clark to get going once again, especially if she's unable to do so against a white-hot Seattle Storm.
