Caitlin Clark is unquestionably one of the most popular players in the WNBA. In all reality, she is probably the most popular player in the league. She is certainly the most well known star on the Indiana Fever. With that being said, her teammates should not be overlooked. Kelsey Mitchell, another All-Star player, discussed her experience playing alongside Clark and other players on the Fever during a recent interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio.
"I think it works because the body movement and my game, it can flourish with other great people," Mitchell said. "That's what people don't understand. You need other All-Stars to be who you are. I think the more that Caitlin brings, with her vision, the more that AB (Aliyah Boston), with her physicality in the post, Lexie Hull, those different guys can make me who I am.
"And I think that cutting and that movement that you see, it is my preparation, but I think it also makes our team is what it is."
Mitchell, 29, is averaging 19.1 points, 2.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds per outing across 23 games played during the 2025 campaign. She is also shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Fever guard is one of the better players in the WNBA. Mitchell and Clark have continued to develop chemistry playing alongside one another. With impactful players such as Boston and Hull on the roster as well, Indiana's future is bright.
The Fever have endured an inconsistent '25 season. Indiana holds a 12-11 record at the moment, sitting four games behind the New York Liberty for first place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Fever were considered to be a possible championship contender heading into the season. Right now, they look like a fringe postseason team, however. Of course, anything can happen once the playoffs begin.
Indiana will attempt to finish the season strong. The Fever's up and down first half was not ideal, but there is still plenty of basketball left to be played. Indiana will begin the second half of the '25 campaign in New York against the Liberty. Clark, who is dealing with a groin injury, may not play in the contest, though.
Mitchell will look to lead the Fever to a big win against the best team in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 PM EST.
