Huge ESPN blunder ends up an ice cold take after Fever's Commissioner's Cup victory

Every site and publisher has its moments. Sometimes, you get caught up in the moment and make mistakes. ESPN, however, is a publisher that you often expect a bit more copy editing from prior to any final publishing decisions.
That wasn't the case for one video the sports giant had set to air moments after the Commissioner's Cup final wraps up. An episode of The Wrap Up was listed on YouTube on ESPN's channel with the title, "FULL REACTION: Lynx dominate Fever to win Commissioner's Cup."
The issue? Well, at the time of the video's preview and announcement, the Fever had a double digit lead on the Lynx in the fourth quarter and were not slowing down. Lynx domination was nowehere to be found. And, ESPN set themselves up to have egg on their face as a result of the mistimed preview going live.
Screenshots, as they say, live forever as well. And, fans quickly nabbed a photo of the thumbnail and title.

It's a bad look as the Fever were honestly on top of the Lynx for much of the contest, with Minnesota only really showing fight in the first quarter of the game. A cold take here that now lives in infamy following Indiana's huge and shocking win over Minnesota on the road to get their first ever Commissioner's Cup championship.
Fever win Cup championship over Lynx, proving ESPN completely wrong
With Caitlin Clark out for the contest, it seemed like the Fever were completely written off in this game. But, what some weren't keeping in mind was that Indiana's defense has been far more locked in as of late with Clark off the court. Aari McDonald is a premier guard defender, and alongside Lexie Hull, the starting unit is a wall.

As a result, Indiana was able to hold the Lynx to just 59 points. This is a team that's 85.3 points per game on the year behind MVP performances from Napheesa Collier throughout the year and some incredible assistance from Courtney Williams, Alanna Smith, Kayla McBride, and others.
It wasn't enough in this one. Indiana ran away with it thanks to a balanced attack on offense led by Natasha Howard, who finished up with a double double, and 13 bench points from Sophie Cunningham. Another road team has vanquished the home team in the Commissioner's Cup final, and the Fever managed to make ESPN look silly.
