The Indiana Fever dropped a weekend bout against the Los Angeles Sparks, losing another game without Caitlin Clark on the floor. While the loss was a close one - the Fever only lost by two points - it just adds another loss to their schedule as they seek to stay afloat in the WNBA standings as Clark deals with a plethora of injuries.

The Sparks, after winning the game off a late game bucket from second year forward Rickea Jackson, had the perfect postgame post to celebrate the win - one that took direct aim at Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

Cunningham recently commented on the WNBA's expansion announcement, which includes teams for Detroit, Cleveland, and Philadelphia over the next few years. She didn't sound thrilled at the prospect of teams being added to those cities, telling reporters that she could've imagined a team landing somewhere like Miami, Nashville, or Kansas City over those announced.

Now, Cunningham wasn't completely wrong for saying the league should try to add more teams to the south and, specifically, the southeast. But, it was unfair for her to target cities like Detroit and Cleveland, saying she didn't know how excited players would be to play in those areas. Detroit and Cleveland have a deep WNBA history, with Detroit carrying a championship history. Players would likely be thrilled to continue that legacy.

It's hilarious to see Los Angeles hit back at Cunningham with this post. She made herself an easy target for social media managers across the league when they're facing off with Indiana, which is never a great piece of leverage to provide if you're a player looking to keep the focus on your team.

The Sparks weren't the only place where you could find some responses to Cunningham's comments. The literal cities of Detroit and Cleveland also hit back at her comments, with Detroit continuing to hit back with TikTok videos and tweets in response to her.

After the Sparks loss, Indiana will have to quickly regroup as they have a camp game scheduled for them against the Golden State Valkyries for Wednesday afternoon at home. Golden State has been on a roll as of late, having won 4 of their last 6 contests. Indiana is coming off that Sparks loss, but also have won 3 of their last 4 games without Clark.
