This is a terrific signing for the Colts, as they are in need of a running back and also considering that Gore is familiar with Colts’ offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, who was a part of the 49ers coaching staff in 2006, a year in which Gore rushed for a career-high 1,700 yards.
At 31 years old, time is certainly not in Gore’s favor, but he has shown that he still possesses the ability to be an effective back in the NFL for his age.

Given the fact that Gore has only missed 13 games in his 10-year career is impressive on its own and goes to show that he can still “grind it out” at his age.
With the signing, Gore gives the Colts an effective power back who can gash through the opposing defense and who could possibly put up 1,000 yards behind the Colts’ offensive line.
He adds a new weapon to offense that opposing teams will have to key in on. Not only that, but Gore is terrific as a pass-blocker which can certainly help Andrew Luck out in the passing game.
The first day of free agency has already been a splash for general manager Ryan Grigson and the Colts, with more signings to come.
Grigson is already showing that he is not messing around this year.
If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that the Colts are all-in for the Super Bowl.
