Who replaces David West at PF for the Pacers?

Before you all give me the Fozzy Bear treatment and start throwing tomatoes, hear me out. I’m not saying the Pacers SHOULD sign Josh Smith, I’m just saying he’s an option.
Though a team of Monta Ellis and Josh Smith could lead to less positive Frank Vogel timeout huddles, J-Smoove would fit into what the Pacers are trying to do.
Smith had some really good years in Atlanta playing the power forward spot next to Al Horford (before Paul Millsap arrived). As a matter of fact, Josh Smith gave the Pacers headaches in Atlanta and Detroit…for about three quarters a game.
When Smith wasn’t settling for “don’t mind if I do” type jump shots, he was a player the Pacers had a hard time defending. He was often too strong for Paul George down low, and too quick for David West when he faced up and drove to the rim.
Smith had a solid season for the Rockets last year, and a good showing during the NBA playoffs. He’s a multi-positional player that can also play/defend the small forward spot, and we know Larry Bird loves versatility.
I wouldn’t offer Josh Smith a long-term contract, but if he’ll take a two year deal with a team or player option, I think he could be worth the gamble.
