Is T.Y. Hilton‘s ‘Breaking News’ Tweet A Big Deal?

T.Y. Hilton recently tweeted about the blockbuster 5-year $70 million deals for Cowboys’ Dez Bryant and Broncos’ WR Demaryius Thomas and has caused a stir in recent days for doing so. One tweet kicked a hornet’s nest among local and national media pundits:

My first reaction to the buzz surrounding this was it was a slow news week and they needed something to debate. As I continued to read the reports I began to become concerned. Not so much that Hilton was going to be gone but that no one seemed to look at it from his perspective. Keep in mind, Hilton has not outright complained, decried the front office or even missed a single workout. Hilton attended every workout including the voluntary ones in the offseason.

Did anyone consider the possibility that he might have been told to wait on a new deal until the wide receiver market was set from those deals? I never read or heard anyone take that stance, so it’s up to me to offer this point-of-view.
