Little is known of the severity of Art Jones’ left ankle injury but there are some concerns evident within the Indianapolis Colts locker room.
So what has been said so far? ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported that Jones had completed his MRI and was “on his way to see a foot and ankle specialist.” Head coach Pagano said the Indianapolis Colts organization will “know more on Monday.” Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star reported that he was “sensing some nervousness” and that it is unlikely Jones will be playing in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
Essentially, it sounds like the team is seeking a second opinion after the MRI. This makes me lean more towards the high-ankle sprain and a likely PUP list addition to the injury report.
Art Jones’ 2014 season was marred by a high ankle sprain suffered on his right leg suffered in week 2. Following a six-week absence, Jones was forced to play on a bad wheel for the rest of the season. Jones told Zac Keefer of the Indianapolis Star:
"“I was never the same,” Jones admits of a regular season he started just three games and amassed 15 tackles. “I didn’t have that explosiveness, and that push-off and drive off my ankle.”"
