Indianapolis Colts Grabbing a lot of Undrafted Free Agents
By Kyle Nishida
Even though the 2016 NFL Draft is over, the Indianapolis Colts are still looking for more prospects.
So far, the Colts have signed at least 21 undrafted free agents. While the Colts have always been active in signing undrafted players, adding this many rookies is alarmingly high.
At the same time, it complete makes sense for the Colts to acquire a lot of undrafted free agents. They were quiet during the regular free agency period, and as a result, they have a lot of roster space. Teams usually want a full 90-man roster when training camp begins. With all these undrafted rookie signings, the Colts will easily hit that mark.
General manager Ryan Grigson is always looking to talent, and here is the list of undrafted players.

* List provided by Indianapolis Colts
At first glance, it is pretty clear the Colts focused on receiver. There are five on this list. Outside of T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, and Phillip Dorsett, the Colts do not have much depth at receiver. There is a good chance one of these undrafted receivers could snag a spot on the Colts’ 53-man roster.
It is way too early to predict if any of these players will make the Colts’ roster. However, the Colts usually have two or three undrafted players who end up making the final roster. Last year was a perfect example. Running back Tyler Varga and wide receiver Quan Bray both went undrafted, but eventually made it onto the Colts’ 53-man roster.

Obviously, this list can change throughout the coming days. Also, the Indianapolis Colts usually invite at least five more prospects to try out for the team. These undrafted rookies will get their first opportunity to wear the Colts’ uniform later in May for in the team’s three-day post-draft minicamp.
