Notre Dame Running Back Josh Adams

Josh Adams was an impact player for the Fighting Irish as a freshman. The now sophomore running back possesses big play potential that could shift the tide of Sunday’s night game in a second.

He accumulated 838 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns on 138 attempts. He also caught six pass for 42 passing yards and one touchdown.

More from Notre Dame

Texas should know how explosive Adams is because he torched the Longhorns last season. On only five carries, he earned 49 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

It is unclear if Adams will start at running back for the Irish or be the backup. Either way, head coach Brian Kelly is going to find a way to get this guy onto the field.

As mentioned before, he can help Notre Dame seize momentum in a close game in a single touch, He can also turn a close game into a blow out in a hurry.

The Longhorns’ defense may have made some improvements this offseason. However, it is still hard to create a gameplan that addresses Adams’ speed and quickness.

For Adams, it does not matter who Notre Dame’s start quarterback will be. Adams will get his fair share of touches.  Viewers should pay close attention to Adams Sunday night because he could have at least three highlight plays.
