The Indianapolis Colts came into Week 15 desperately needed a win over the Minnesota Vikings. Well, they picked up that result in a dominating 34-6 victory.

Indianapolis demolished Minnesota from start to finish inside U.S. Bank Stadium Sunday afternoon. In fact, the game was over by halftime.

Shockingly, the Colts controlled both sides of the ball. They kept moving the chains and creating big plays. Meanwhile, they stifled everything the Vikings wanted to do on offense.

More from Indianapolis Colts

Offensively, the Colts had 250 passing yards and a season-high 161 rushing yards. Luck threw two touchdowns and his offensive line did not surrender a sack.

At the same time, Frank Gore eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the second time this season. Backup running back also had 32 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, the Colts did not really stop quarterback Sam Bradford as he had 291 passing yards. However, they did make his time in the pocket miserable. They sacked him five times and forced him into one interception.

On the ground, the Colts shut the Vikings down. They held running backs Adrian Peterson and Jerrick McKinnon to only 34 rushing yards on nine carries. Peterson also had a fumble.

The Colts’ strong defensive effort was led by their outside linebackers Robert Mathis and Erik Walden. Mathis had one sack while Walden had two sacks and hit Bradford on two other occasions.

Indianapolis’ win kept the team alive in the AFC South race. However, they were unable to gain any ground on the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans. Both division foes pushed their records to 8-6 thanks to comeback wins.
