A massive Caitlin Clark problem is starting to emerge

Caitlin Clark is known as the best shooter in WNBA and is regularly used to feeling comfortable in her shot. But many couldn't help but notice something has just been off about her performance the last two games. It would appear that Clark is currently in a slump. Her shots aren't falling and she was the first one to acknowledge this after the team's loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
Despite a poor shooting game, Clark still managed to record a double-double finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Aces. What really raised eyebrows was her having only connected on one of just ten three-point attempts.
Just two games ago against the Golden State Valkyries, Clark came up empty from deep range missing all seven of her attempts and shot only 3 for 14 from the field.
Clark has gone cold in her with her shooting performance ever since the drama-filled game against the Connecticut Sun. Overall through her two previous performances, Clark is 1-17 from three-point range. She didn't mince words after the team's loss Sunday and was open in addressing her shooting woes. It's clear she has every intention of sticking to her approach and game plan.

“There are going to be stretches that are really good and there’s going to be stretches that aren’t as good, and obviously it’s frustrating as you want them to go in … I don’t feel like it’s anything that’s off, necessarily.” pic.twitter.com/D9lVcL1JPm
"I got to find a way to continue to shoot and remain confident in myself because I know I've put the time in. I don't feel like it's anything that's off necessarily, but yeah, it would've been nice if they went down," Clark said.
The Fever are 0-2 on their west coast trip all during Clark's slump. She shouldn't take the brunt of the team's lack of success, but it's clear that when she isn't playing up to her fullest potential, the team is more likely to lose some games. This was already known during her time out with a quad injury. The Fever were 2-3 during that stretch of games.
What about Caitlin Clark's shooting is less effective?
One thing that stands out about Clark's shooting mechanics is she is lethal when shooting from her left side. However, when she shoots from the right side of the basket, her field goal percentage is down by more than half.
When Clark shoots both of her feet are pointed to the left making it seemingly easier for her when she quickly changes direction on a defender and posts the ball driving to her left side. She struggles significantly more when shooting from her right because it forces her to completely change her mechanics based on her body's comfortable position.
When she has to rearrange her body's position on a right-sided shot, she loses power in her 'launch' thus effecting her aim to the basket. Her posture gets more sloppy and 'out of whack' on any long range shot to the right side.

Ever notice how Clark almost never takes any shots from the corner? It doesn't allow her the space to 'lean' into her shot vs shooting from the top of the key. In fact, Clark is shooting just barely outside of 20 percent in attempts from the right side of the rim. She's just under 50 percent attempts when putting up three-point shots from her left side.
Perhaps teams are beginning to catch on and throw her out of her rhythm. The New York Liberty had no answers for her and neither did the Connecticut Sun, but since then Clark's teammates haven't been as efficient at setting screens and creating space for her to shoot.
Clark is fully aware of the decrease in her production as is her head coach Stephanie White. But White isn't at all worried about her going 3-17 in the last three games. The main focus is giving her more looks and opportunities to pull herself out of it.
Her shots will eventually fall, but many hope she comes out of her shooting slump sooner rather than later if the Fever are going to have long term success.
