Caitlin Clark continues to wow WNBA viewers with record breaking performances during her second year in the league. Clark, who is only recently returning from a quad strain that landed her on the injured list for two weeks, has come back with an absolutely vengeance despite some recent shooting struggles.

For the Indiana Fever, this is great news, and for Clark, it's just adding more lore early in her career. Most recently against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark managed to notch another record, hitting 400 career assists at the fastest pace in WNBA history. Prior to Clark, that record lied with former Sacramento Monarchs guard and court magician Ticha Penicheiro.

Despite the loss, this is just another part to Clark's game that deserves some major shine. The mind bogglingly long range three point shooting is obviously the flashiest part of Clark's game, and rightfully so. But, her passing is what makes the team around her great, and getting to 400 career assists at just 23 years old is a huge accomplishment.

Clark breaks another record despite loss to Aces

While Las Vegas' game planning for Clark clearly worked - she only shot 7-20 from the field and 1-10 from three point range - she managed to get 10 assists. Teams are clearly beginning to figure out that Clark will succumb to double or triple teams and err ball handling responsibilities to one of Kelsey Mitchell or Lexie Hull in a pinch, which is exactly what defenses want.

Clark can beat out Penicheiro again by reaching 500 assists this season, which would again be the fastest that any player has touched that milestone in league history. It's definitely doable considering she's on pace to finish the season averaging somewhere around 9 and 10 assists per game.

With 32 games left in the season for the Fever (including the Commissioner's Cup final they have coming up against the Minnesota Lynx), that should land Clark an additional 288 to 320 assists on the season.

It'll really fall on her teammates to start hitting their shots, of course, at a similar or better clip than they are currently. Indiana is shooting 45.7 percent from the field at the moment, which is good for fourth overall in the league. They're also the third best three point shooting team in the WNBA, shooting 35 percent from deep.
