The Indiana Fever have struggled a bit since losing Caitlin Clark to a left quad injury last month, but there's one player who has persevered and played her heart out through it all: Aliyah Boston, who is in her third year with the team after being drafted as the No. 1 overall pick in 2023.

Boston currently leads the WNBA in field goal percentages, a crucial stat that has contributed significantly to each game the team has played so far.

Boston's FG% is currently 67.65 for the 2025 season, a monster feat that she's worked hard to achieve. Despite frequently finding herself in foul trouble, Boston has managed to come through for the Fever over and over again in Clark's absence.

That doesn't mean Boston's had it easy. The team's first game without Clark was against the Mystics and resulted in an 83-77 loss.

It was clear from the beginning of the match that without Clark on the court running the plays they spent last season fine-tuning to near-perfection, Boston would have to rely on the rest of the team to get her the touches she needs to perform well — and that wasn't exactly happening the way it needed to.

Coach White blamed herself and the coaching staff in a postgame press conference and also admitted that the team was simply working through the unexpected loss of Clark. "It looks different now without Caitlin on the floor," she told reporters. The team will have to regroup and make it "a point of contention" to get the ball to Boston as often as possible.

The team's next game against the Sun was also a tough one for Boston, who found herself racking up foul calls with no solution in sight. She'd already been hit with three early in the second quarter and missed most of the remaining time while she sat on the bench.

She returned from the half strong and energetic, and helped add on another 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists before also adding a foul that saw her exit the quarter with four and a half minutes left.

Boston has made light of the frequency with which fouls have been called against her so far this season. Though she ended Tuesday night's game against the Mystics with four personal fouls, she hasn't yet had to completely exit a game — and hopefully Clark will be back on the court soon and the Fever's dynamic duo can get back to doing the work they're so good at.
