Caitlin Clark hits concerning new low in Fever win
By Elaine Blum

The good news is, the Indiana Fever got a much-needed win over the Seattle Storm after losing to the Golden State Valkyries and Las Vegas Aces. Indiana dominated in the fast break and the paint, led by Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
Boston was great, finishing with an efficient 31 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She was close to a double-double and dominated the paint despite all the size in the Storm’s frontcourt. Mitchell was the Fever’s other offensive engine, recording 26 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Lexie Hull and Damiris Dantas also played well.
These performances allowed the Fever to overcome a concerningly bad game from Caitlin Clark.
Caitlin Clark played the worst game of her season
Caitlin Clark hit a new low against the Storm. The Fever’s star went 3-13 from the field and finished the game with six points, two rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and eight turnovers. She missed all six of her 3-point attempts, marking her third consecutive bad shooting performance.
Clark doesn’t usually have many bad games, but she recorded a few concerning performances this season. In a 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty, she went 6-18 from the field and turned the ball over ten times. Recently, she went 3-14 and turned the ball over six times against the Golden State Valkyries.
This game against the Storm may have ended in a win for the Fever, but it was definitely one of the worst games of Clark’s season and a performance the Fever do not want her to repeat.
Caitlin Clark has been struggling lately
This season has not gone according to plan for the Fever. Despite making some big offseason moves, Indiana is not one of the top teams in the league. Clark had to miss some time with a quad injury, and the addition of DeWanna Bonner quickly turned sour after the initial excitement of adding a championship veteran to the roster.
Amid those struggles, the Fever have lost many games they were supposed to win. They lost to the Washington Mystics, Connecticut Sun, and Golden State Valkyries. Those losses have the Fever sitting in seventh place in the regular-season standings with a disappointing 7-7 record.
When Caitlin Clark struggles, the Fever usually struggle as well. Clark initially returned from her injury looking better than ever. She dropped 32 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and two blocks in a massive win over the New York Liberty. Then, she played another good game against the Connecticut Sun.
Since then, she has struggled and the Fever have lost two of their last three games. Clark just hasn’t been able to hit threes on the Fever’s current road trip. Over three games, she made only one of her 23 attempts from behind the arc. She also turned the ball over a lot, recording 22 turnovers over three games.
Her teammates will have to continue stepping up until Clark looks more like herself again.
