Caitlin Clark's former teammate Erica Wheeler has heartwarming reaction to win

The Minnesota Lynx are no longer one of two undefeated teams in the WNBA.
Not after Erica Wheeler, the former backup guard to Caitlin Clark on the Indiana Fever and the now-hero for the Seattle Storm in Commissioner's Cup action, hit a game-sealing three to push the Storm over the Lynx.
It was a big shot as the Storm look to keep pace with the Lynx in the Cup standings and as they needed to pour on as many shots as possible to get some ground in point differential - a key metric when determining the winner of a tiebreaker at the end of the regular Cup games.
Wheeler's reaction to her huge shot was wonderful and raw. She teared up on the sideline when about to be interviewed by media after the win, telling the sideline reporter that it simply "feels good to win."

Wheeler, who has been an amazing addition to the Storm's bench this season while averaging 10.8 points per game along with 4.1 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and shooting 50 percent from the field, deserved to get her flowers in this moment. Some might be a bit critical of just how emotional she got here - after all, Cup games are just regular season games with extra oomph.
But, the Storm have had a rough go to begin the year, and Wheeler is clearly relieved to be a key part of a big win for the team.
Wheeler comes up big for the Storm
Wheeler had been a great asset for the Fever for two seasons between 2023 and 2024. While she saw her role diminished last season in terms of minutes per game and, as a result, points per game, she was still a great locker room presence for a young Indiana squad.

It's great to see Wheeler, who had always been so supportive of her rookies in Aliyah Boston and Clark, find a role on a contender in Seattle. Her energy is just so infectious, and her play is beginning to once again reflect that for the Storm.
Now, Seattle is tied with Minnesota in the Western Conference Cup standings, but their point differential is only 23 to the Lynx's 40. It'll take another few big wins, and some closer Lynx victories, to push Seattle over the edge into first place firmly.
