Caitlin Clark may be sidelined with a quad injury, but that isn’t keeping her from being heavily involved in the basketball world. With the Fever not playing, Clark turned her attention to Indiana’s other professional basketball team: the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers, led by Tyrese Haliburton, are currently playing the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. On his journey to the finals, Haliburton has made some tough, late-game shots to secure crucial wins. He did the same thing in Game 1 of the Finals.

Clark, who is also known for her ability to make tough shots, couldn’t help but chime in on X, expressing the disbelief millions of fans felt after Haliburton decided the game with 0.3 seconds left on the clock. He made a difficult long two over Cason Wallace.

Tyrese Haliburton has had several big games this postseason

Tyrese Haliburton is using his team’s postseason run to solidify his NBA stardom. The 25-year-old is averaging 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.4 steals over 16 playoff games. He has had several big games already while taking down the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks.

WNBA fans might remember a baffling 3-point shooting performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals that former NBA star Isiah Thomas called a “Caitlin Clark type of game.”

It is not often that you hear someone compare an NBA player to a WNBA player, so that comment was a win for women’s basketball. Clark and Haliburton embody many similar characteristics on the court. Both are tall guards who can dish out great passes, and both thrive in big moments. They are also the two faces of Indiana basketball.

The Pacers are doing what the Fever hope to accomplish

After just one season of seeing Caitlin Clark play, the Fever made the decision to waste no more time and build a contender around her. They signed veterans DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sydney Colson, and traded for Sophie Cunningham to improve the team’s defense and add much-needed experience.

Clark’s injury and two losses to the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun have slowed down the Fever on their road to contending for a championship. The Fever currently have a 3-4 record, while the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty are still undefeated. However, that doesn’t mean that Fever fans should give up hope.

There is still plenty of time for the Fever to rack up wins and go on a deep playoff run, just like the Pacers are doing right now. During EuroBasket, many teams will be short-handed, while the Fever should be at almost full strength, barring injuries. Damiris Dantas will be playing for Brazil in Americup at the end of the month but no Fever players are suiting up for their national teams during EuroBasket.
