Caitlin Clark has drafted a strong roster ahead of the 2025 All Star Game that includes teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell as well as two of this year's star rookies, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Clark also added 3-time MVP A'ja Wilson to her squad, but a potentially serious wrist injury could rule Wilson out of the game.
Wilson suffered the injury during the Aces' July 8 game against the Liberty. While attempting a layup Wilson seemed to lose her footing in the air and fell hard on her right wrist. She immediately left the game, and missed the team's game against the Mystics on July 10.
Coach Becky Hammon told reporters that Wilson's wrist is not broken, and the team wants to "just let it heal correctly the first time" instead of rushing her back to the court. It's currently unclear if Wilson will be available for the July 19 All Star Game in Indianapolis.
In addition to costing Wilson the opportunity to play in the game, it could also cost fans the chance to see Wilson and Clark team up for the first time. The pair played on opposing teams during last year's All Star, when Wilson was on the Olympic team.

Hammon has referred to Wilson's injury as a sprain but the team has not offered any other details about how bad the sprain might be or when Wilson could return. The Cleveland Clinic has noted it can take "a few weeks" to fully recover from a wrist sprain, and the Orlando Orthopedic Center has noted it can take anywhere between two and ten weeks. Wilson was spotted during the Aces' shootaround Thursday wearing a brace on the wrist in question.
Wilson isn't the only member of Team Clark who is injured
In addition to Wilson, Satou Sabally has also been dealing with ankle injury that could result in her missing the game as well. On July 8 the Mercury's coach Nate Tibbetts told reporters Sabally is "day to day." Sabally did not participate in the team's practice last Sunday, and was spotted with a boot on her right leg.
Sabally, who is averaging 19.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals so far this season, has put in powerful work for the Merucr
If a player can't play in the All Star Game, Cathy Engelbert will be tasked with naming a replacement.
