Caitlin Clark has plenty of fans, and a lot of them are fellow basketball players. In an interview with Complex Sports, LSU's Flau'jae Johnson had nothing but praise for Clark, whom she described as "my dog," despite the pair's previous experience as foes on the floor.

Johnson also revealed that she regularly texts or calls Clark to ask for advice, particularly after catching a shot or a move. She noted that the pair are "tied" in terms of wins and losses, and "that's why I'm going to some Fever games this year, you know what I'm saying? Just to scope the scenery out."

"I'll text her, ask her for advice all the time. Like, 'How you shoot like this? Why you do that?' Because she's one of the greatest shooters in the world, I just be trying to get tips, and she the coolest. Like, willing to help. Shoutout double-C," Johnson added.

Johnson also mentioned her song "Help Me" in which she drops Clark's name in the line, "Double-C on my jacket like Caitlin Clark." The young hooper added, "She just got this 'keep going' mentality. Bad games, whatever. Like, keep going to kill. She really got that kill mentality. And that's something that a lot of athletes don't have, people who could like turn that on and off. But I don't think she turn it off."

Flau'jae Johnson and Caitlin Clark met in college

The relationship between Johnson and Clark goes back to at least 2023, when the former and the LSU Tigers beat the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA championship game. The following year the Hawkeyes knocked the Tigers out of the Elite Eight.

Could Flau'jae Johnson play on the Indiana Fever?

The interview prompted some fans to ask whether or not Johnson could end up playing with the Fever after she's drafted into the WNBA in 2026. While the idea is definitely a tempting one, right now the Fever's highest draft pick is the 9th overall spot — and it's likely Johnson, a heavy favorite heading into the 2025-26 collegiate season, will be drafted higher than that.

Still, the current WNBA season is very young and teams aren't making moves in terms of next year's draft yet. There is still plenty of time for the Fever to make trades or put themselves in a position to be able to draft higher in the first round.

If there's one person Johnson might not be as eager to play with, it's her former teammate at LSU, Angel Reese. During an interview with the Breakfast Club on June 9, Johnson revealed the pair aren't as close as they once were. "We're not friends, but I mean that bond that we had, that thing that we did together, winning a national championship, you can never take that away from us. And so sometimes stuff happens, you wish it don't happen but it do. And you just gotta grow," she explained.

She also said that the reason the pair grew apart had to do with conversations that were being had. "Yeah, it was a lot of media, it was a lot of locker room stuff, you know what I'm saying? Stuff that go on behind the scenes. But it happens. It happens," Johnson said.
