Almost as soon as Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA, she started breaking records and making history left and right. It quickly became clear that she was one of the brightest talents the league had seen in a while. Her potential was underlined by an All-Star nod and All-WNBA Frist Team selection in her rookie season.

This year, Clark is an All-Star again—a starter and captain even—and continues to make history. Clark is now officially fifty games into her WNBA career.

The Fever star holds the record for most assists and 3-pointers recorded through a player’s first 50 career games. She has also recorded the seventh-most points in league history over that stretch.

The 2025 season hasn’t gone according to plan for Clark

2025 was supposed to be a big year for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. A bunch of free agency additions were meant to catapult the Fever to contender status and allow Clark to lead her team on a deep playoff run. Things haven’t gone quite as well yet. The addition of DeWanna Bonner didn’t pan out, Clark has been dealing with injuries, and the Fever are struggling.

Clark has only played 10 games this season, missing time with a quad injury and then with a groin injury. Over those 10 games, she averages 17.4 points, five rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 5.7 turnovers. Unsurprisingly due to the injuries, she is averaging fewer points and rebounds than last season and shooting only 30.1 percent from three

Her team has struggled as well. Indiana has only won nine games all season long and holds an underwhelming seventh place in the regular-season standings. While the Fever beat the Lynx, Aces, Storm, and Liberty, they also suffered some bad losses to Golden State, Los Angeles, Connecticut, and Washington.

It’s been an inconsistent season at best.

Clark still remains on the right path

Despite the adversity Clark has had to deal with already this season, she clearly remains on the right track. Growth in the WNBA is not always linear, especially when injuries factor in. This year may not be the sophomore season Clark and her fans envisioned, but that doesn’t take away from her greatness.

Clark is still hitting milestones and putting up numbers that few players were able to get close to before. She will continue to make WNBA history, right on track to becoming one of the GOATs of the game, and the team success will soon follow. The Fever may be struggling a bit right now, but they still have a great core. Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull have already taken big steps this season.
