Consistency in the Trenches is Essential to the Indianapolis Colts’ success in 2015

Monday’s camp practice was focused on the consistency of the offensive line and the short yardage game. For the eighth straight practice the first team offensive lines has been the same starting five. On a side note, none of us at Ink on Indy accurately predicted this lineup.

However, this is a good sign that barring injuries this will be the starting line heading into the regular season:

Left Tackle – Anthony Castonzo

Left Guard – Lance Louis

Center- Khaled Holmes

Right Guard – Todd Herremans

Right Tackle – Jack Mewhort

Physicality Leads to Skirmishes

The dogs bared their teeth on Saturday and Sunday with full take-down tackling in short yardage drills, more Oklahoma drills and a second scuffle in camp. On Friday it was Art Jones – who has been a backfield disruption all camp – and Lance Louis in extracurricular action after the whistle. The enxt practice, the two offenders Jonotthan Harrison and Kelcy Quarles were dismissed for the day and sent to the locker room after their fracas.

On Sunday morning, Pagano addressed the fine line between competition and combat during his press conference:

"You got a bunch of guys that are trying to make a team and be evaluated and make an impression and do good, so the competition is there and sometimes, again, guys are tired and they are sore and all that stuff and tempers flare. It gets over the top and we can not tolerate it and we are not going to tolerate it, because like I said, if it happens in a game, you are done. They are going to hit them hard in their wallet, number one, and it hurts the team. If you are not available on game day and when dress 46 players that hurts the team. You can’t do it."
